If you are experiencing performance issues (e.g. low frame rate, frozen screen for a very short period of time, slower action), the following information may help you understand the cause of the issue and troubleshoot the situation.
A good first step is to check the system requirements for the game. The minimum game requirements are:
- Requires 64-bit processor and operating system
- SO:WINDOWS® 10 (requires 64-bit)
- Processor:Intel® Core™ i5-3470 3.20GHz or AMD FX-6300™ or better
- Storage:4GB of RAM
- Chart:NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960 / 2 GB VRAM oder AMD Radeon RX 560 / 2 GB VRAM
- DirectX:version 11
- Rot:broadband internet connection
- Save on computer:28 GB available storage space
- sound plate:DirectSound compatible (must support DirectX® 9.0c or higher)
- Additional comments:This game is expected to run at 1080p/30 FPS. If you don't have enough power to run the game with the selected graphics quality, you should go to Options > Graphics and lower the resolution or adjust the quality settings. An internet connection is required for product activation. (The network connection uses Steam® powered by Valve® Corporation.)
Possible solutions for low SPF
CPU configuration
There are a few things you can try:
Close other programs (especially CPU and RAM intensive programs like web browsers).
Give Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin high priority via Task Manager.
1)Ejecuta Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
2)Open Task Manager [CTRL+SHIFT+ESC].
3)If necessary, switch to the More Details view using the "More Details" link in the lower-right corner.
4)Switch to the "Details" tab.
5)From the list, right click on "Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.exe" -> "Set Priority" -> "High".
Use full screen mode
Most games let you play in full-screen, windowed, or borderless windowed mode. For maximum performance, you should choose full screen mode.
This is because apps and games running in this mode have full control over the screen output. While borderless windows may be more convenient, the game in this mode lacks that display exclusivity and can therefore slow down performance a bit.
GPU settings
Optimize NVIDIA settings
If you have an NVIDIA graphics card, there are a few things you can do to change its settings. These settings require you to access the NVIDIA 3D settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel.
Tip: Remember to keep your graphics card driver up to date! The graphics card in particular will never get a big performance boost from updating the drivers.
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel and go to the Manage 3D Settings tab on the left.
- If you want to apply these settings to all games, select Global settings. However, if you only want to apply them to Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, select the program list and search for the game. If you cannot find the game in the list, click the Browse button, navigate to the game installation directory and select the appropriate .exe file.
- After selecting the game or global settings, change the power management mode to performance mode. This ensures that your GPU is running at maximum speed.
- Disable image sharpening mode. This disables post-processing sharpening, which can overwhelm your resources.
- Set the Max Pre-Rendered Frames value to 1. This will ensure that your GPU works on the next immediate frame instead of trying to render the next one.
- Active Threaded Optimization and G-Sync are approved for the monitor.
- Set the view to single view performance mode. This can be helpful if you have a multiple monitor setup as it encapsulates resources on a single monitor.
- For texture filtering quality, choose Performance mode.
AMD-Graphics-Setup
If you have an AMD graphics card, you can use AMD's Radeon Control Panel utility to change its settings. Just follow these steps:
- Right-click an empty spot on your desktop and open the AMD Radeon Settings Control Panel.
- Now select the Global Graphics option to change the graphics card settings for your games.
- Upon login, disable any proprietary post-processing options that AMD has enabled by default. These include Radeon Anti-Lag, Radeon Chill, and Radeon Boost.
- Also, disable vertical refresh latency (which increases performance but may cause screen tearing).
- Disable image sharpening, anisotropic filtering, maximum tiling, frame rate target control, and OpenGL triple buffering.
- Now activate the surface shape optimization.
- For the GPU workload settings, select the graphics mode for the best performance.
- Choose Performance Mode in the Texture Filter Quality option.
- Finally, set tessellation and shader cache to AMD optimized mode for the best experience while playing Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin.
Get rid of unwanted files
A. Clean the PC of temporary files.
These files do nothing, but they can take up a significant amount of disk space and slow down your PC even if you have enough space left on your storage devices.
It's especially useful for those who have installed Windows for a few months and have never cleaned their PC junk properly. Alternatively, you can use some utilities like CCleaner, but you still need to check if all those junk files have been removed from your PC. How does it work:
• Press Win + R to open Run box -> type "prefetch" -> remove all junk (some files may not be removed but that's ok)
• Press Win + R -> type "% temp%" -> delete all junk (some files may not be deleted but that's ok)
B. Run Disk Cleanup
Again, there may be some programs that can do this for you, but if you don't have one or aren't sure if it actually removes junk files, here's how
• Go to Windows search and type “Disk Cleaner”.
• Open the program
• Check all available file categories and press OK
game shortcut
If you have the game shortcut on your desktop.
1. Right-click on it and click Properties and Compatibility tab.
2. Check Override high DPI scaling behavior. and select Scaling performed by (Application) from the drop-down menu.
3. Check Disable full screen optimizations.
4. And check Run this program as an administrator.
Update your graphics card drivers
Your graphics card is at the heart of your gaming experience, but you can't unleash its true performance without the right graphics driver. Updating your graphics card driver can be a great FPS booster.
How do I update my graphics card drivers?
- PressWindows+R.
- Type "DxDiag" and click on itOK.
- After the DirectX diagnostic tool loads, select theshowab
- The graphics card name and manufacturer are listed in the Device section. The current version of the driver is displayed in the Drivers section.
- Visit the driver manufacturer's website for the latest driver. Contact the driver manufacturer for help updating the driver. If your computer is under warranty, contact your computer manufacturer.
Upgrade to an SSD
SSDs are much faster than mechanical hard drives, making them a great way to optimize your Windows 10 computer for gaming. Upgrading to an SSD (Solid State Drive) won't increase the frame rate of your game, butÖSpeed up your computer and reduce loading time while gaming.
Opt for an SSD with at least 250GB of storage, although this is a bare minimum rather than an effective starting point. Many modern games can exceed 50 GB, and you also need to allocate about 30 GB for Windows. And that doesn't even include all of your other files. Actually, you probably want to500GB or more.
Upgrade your computer's memory
RAM (Random Access Memory) is your computer's pool of resources for all current tasks. The more RAM you have, the more your computer can do at once. Upgrading your PC's RAM not only optimizes your computer for gaming, but also makes it more powerful overall.
When adding RAM, make sure your new RAM modules match what you currently have. You don't want to mix and match RAM types. When you upgrade all your RAM modules to new ones, please check which RAM types your motherboard can support. Then buy one or more of the same RAM modules.
Keep your laptop cool
The hotter your laptop gets, the worse its performance gets - a hot laptop will try to self-regulate its temperatures by slowing down. to see howKeep your laptop cool for consistently high performanceand less stress on sensitive internal components:
- Clean your laptop's fans and vents. When dust accumulates, your laptop cannot exhaust hot air as efficiently. Clean your laptop regularly and fix the air vents to keep it cool. If you're feeling brave (and don't mind voiding your manufacturer's warranty), you can open the laptop and clean the fans directly.
- Don't lie on your lap.The word "portable" is misleading. Place the laptop on a smooth, flat surface to allow air to circulate underneath. If it's on your lap or on a rug or blanket, it will suffocate.
- plug it inRunning your laptop on battery power can get hot, especially if you've optimized your power settings for performance. If possible, connect your laptop to an external power source.
- Use a cooling rack:An external cooling pad forces cool air against the underside of your laptop to improve airflow. You can buy one relatively cheaply and plug it directly into your laptop via USB.
